DEKODUR® produces the world's first vegan high pressure laminates

The term “vegan” has so far been associated with a special way of life and particular eating habits:  vegans abstain from all foodstuffs of animal origin.

That structural designs, too, can be vegan is demonstrated by DEKODUR'S® latest development.  This high pressure laminate by DEKODUR® is manufactured without any petrochemical substances or products based on crude oil.  Instead, it contains natural and renewable raw materials.

Bagasse, a by-product generated during the processing of sugarcane, is the basic substance used for producing the “vegan” high pressure laminates.  The fibrous matter that remains (bagasse) is recycled into an organic resin that is used for impregnating core papers and hence for producing the vegan high pressure laminates.  The characteristics of these panels are identical to those of standard HPL.
